  Roger Krueger

Dr. Roger Krueger is currently Vice President of Global Seed Quality Lead, bringing together seed strategy, policy and operations of Monsanto’s branded and licensee business. Some of the objectives will be to lead a improved process initiative, drive best practices for the seed industry, and work toward consistency of internationally recognized seed purity laws.

Krueger’s previous position was Director of Environmental Stewardship and Global Product Development in the Monsanto Agricultural Sector, with cross-crop and cross-geography responsibility for sustainable business issues. Areas include Pest Management, Quality Assurance, System Development such as conservation tillage, Specialty Crops, all involving seed, agricultural chemicals, and traits.

Previously, Krueger served as Director of Technology Development and part of the United States Business Team in U.S. Markets. Krueger has held a range of positions in the agriculture business including product development, biotechnology strategy, molecular genetics and trait development through genetic engineering and transposon tagging, while working at American Cyanamid, Yale University and Dekalb-Pfizer Genetics.

Krueger earned a B.S. in Plant Science from the University of New Hampshire, an M.S. in Plant Nutrition from the University of Rhode Island, and a Ph. D. in Biology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Krueger also worked as a Post Doctoral Associate in the Biochemistry Department at the University of Missouri studying gene expression in soybeans prior to working with Dekalb-Pfizer.

Krueger has published articles on agricultural biotechnology, glyphosate resistance in ryegrass, transposon tagging genes in maize, gene transformation in maize, cloning rare genes in soybean, genetics of maize mutants and biochemistry of a polyploid series of fescue.

Krueger currently lives in St. Louis with his wife, Ann, a veterinarian, and three children Van, Mara, and Hanna.
